Instead of adding posts one at a time through the single-post entry form (device + username + schedule + media + caption fields), Bulk Post Import treats the operator’s media folder as the input and produces a queue of scheduled posts as the output. It is the specific workflow operators use for weekly or monthly content planning cycles where the specific volume of posts to schedule would be operationally impractical through the single-post entry.

How Bulk Post Import Works

The mechanism runs inside a dedicated Bulk Import sub-sub-tab within Post Scheduler. When the operator opens the sub-sub-tab, the interface exposes a Media Folder input field alongside Browse, Scan Folder, and Import Media Files buttons. The operator points the field at a folder on their local disk containing the media files that should become scheduled posts, clicks Scan Folder to inventory the folder’s contents, and clicks Import Media Files to bring those files into the Post Scheduler workflow as pending scheduled posts.

The specific scan-then-import flow serves the specific purpose of letting operators verify the folder’s contents before committing to the import. Scanning shows what files the tool detected without adding them to the schedule; importing commits the scanned files as scheduled posts based on the operator’s other configuration settings (scheduling options, account distribution, captions).

The Folder-Based Workflow

Scheduling Options

Start Publishing Time sets the specific date and HH:MM for when the first post in the batch should publish. All subsequent posts in the batch schedule forward from this start time based on the pacing configuration.

Time Between Posts (same account) sets the minute-level spacing between consecutive posts on the same account. If an account has 7 posts in the import batch and Time Between Posts is set to 24 hours, the account gets one post per day for 7 days starting at Start Publishing Time. Shorter values produce tighter posting cadence; longer values spread the posts across more days.

The specific interaction between these two fields and the account distribution matters. Bulk Post Import distributes imported files across the selected accounts, and each account’s specific post schedule reflects the Start Publishing Time offset plus the account’s share of the pacing. Different accounts get different specific publish times because their posts sit at different positions in the aggregate schedule.

Skip Previously Imported Files

The Skip Previously Imported Files checkbox in the Import Filter Options section addresses the specific case where operators run Bulk Post Import against the same folder multiple times. Without the option, running Bulk Post Import twice against the same folder produces duplicate scheduled posts — the same media files get imported twice and scheduled twice. With the option enabled, the tool tracks which files have been imported previously and skips them on subsequent scans, so re-running the import against a partially-processed folder only imports the specific new files added since the last run.

This is one of the specific safety mechanisms that makes Bulk Post Import practical for ongoing content workflows. Content producers can add new files to the folder incrementally throughout the week, and operators can re-run Bulk Post Import periodically to pick up the newly-added files without accidentally re-scheduling the files already imported.

Bulk Caption Editing

The Edit Selected Items section provides a Caption input field plus an Apply Caption button that operators use to bulk-write a caption across many imported posts in one action. Rather than editing each imported post’s caption individually, operators can select multiple posts in the imported media table and apply the same caption to all of them simultaneously.

The specific pattern this supports is the case where a batch of posts should share the same caption template — a series of posts promoting the same product, a series of posts using the same call-to-action, or a series of posts in a coordinated campaign that need consistent messaging. Bulk Post Import is one of two specific sub-sub-tabs inside Post Scheduler, alongside the Post Scheduler single-post entry form. Both sub-sub-tabs feed the same underlying scheduled-post queue that Onimator’s core execution engine reads for publishing. Posts added through either path get processed identically by the execution engine, which means operators can mix the two approaches within the same operational workflow — Bulk Post Import for the week’s planned content, single-post entry for the specific ad-hoc post the operator decides to add mid-week.

After the specific import step, the imported posts move into the standard Post Scheduler workflow: they wait in the queue until their scheduled publish times, get dispatched by the execution engine when their windows arrive, and appear in Post Statistics after their publish attempts complete. From the execution engine’s perspective, posts scheduled through Bulk Post Import are indistinguishable from posts scheduled through the single-post entry form.

The Threads Manager and TikTok Manager Variants

Bulk Post Import appears in slightly different variants inside the platform-specific OniHelper containers. The Threads Manager container includes a Threads-specific Bulk Import sub-sub-tab that’s leaner than the standalone Post Scheduler’s Bulk Import — it doesn’t expose the same Edit Selected Items panel with multiple sub-tabs and skips some of the Instagram-specific features (Post Type radio, Natural Sort, Default Post Settings) that don’t apply to Threads posts.

TikTok Manager doesn’t currently include its own Bulk Import — operators handle TikTok bulk post scheduling through the suite-wide Post Scheduler module pointed at the TikTok bot folder.
